Just finished reading The Night Children. Why hasn’t Alexander Gordon Smith been called to write a Doctor Who episode yet?! (First time I’ve been terrorized by gasmasks since The Empty Child… feels, lots of them.) Seriously creeped out now asdfjhgfhdskadgfa. I thought Furnace was mostly ok, I mean, it isn’t really scary as it’s evil, but holy shit, The Night Children. The build up, the tension, the lore, the revelations by the end of the story. THE IMAGERY OMG. Shivers.

“The night children,” said Andreas, translating Gyorgy’s garbled German. “Always smiling, but always sad. They can never go home because they have the night inside them.”

Wait, hold up, people ship Alex/Warden?
Like, they imagine them having sex, whether it be cuddly or masochistic?
I would be concerned but I’ve seen stranger. I can sort of see the appeal. Not in the sexual way, though. It’s like me and Wincest. I don’t like it when it’s sexual but when it’s emotionally-centric, I’m all up on that shit.
If anybody has a link to a fanfiction with Alex/Warden, link me to it please. I don’t care about warnings, triggers, etc. I just want proof that somebody ships the two. o_o

Yes. Yes, yes, yes. I don’t think there are any slash fanfiction for Furnace (are there?!), but I’m coming out in the open and saying I ship it. The Warden is sex on heels or me. He’s very charismatic in that creepy, sexually threatening sort of way. Maybe I’m just used to the way other devilish characters are portrayed in media (Balthazar from Constantine, Alastair from Supernatural) but there’s always something definiting alluring about them since,  hey, the Devil is supposed to be attractive. As for the Warden, he is always enforcing obedience, threatening punishment, speaking calmly. That’s kinda kinky… Okay. Very kinky, if you’re into that sort of thing. Which I am. Oof. now, cuddling with the Warden might be a bit weird…
